Because yoga is often described using words like “relaxing” and “calming”, it’s a misconception that it will also be “easy”. Calming is not a synonym for easy. Relaxing doesn’t necessarily mean effortless . . Meditation is hard! If it was easy, people wouldn’t have to be taught to meditate. We would just DO it. But turns out sitting and doing nothing and focusing the mind actually takes a lot of practice . . Yes stretching feels good…if you’re used to it. But if you’re stretching for the first time in 35 years or so, it’s likely to feel uncomfortable at first . . Yoga isn’t easy. ✨And that’s why it’s so good!! ✨Things that come easily are usually forgettable, not valued, maybe even boring. When we have to work a little bit for something, we then learn its true worth 💪 . . Thanks @spencerbentley_creates for this snap and thank you @aloyoga for the threads . .
